The Importance of Bamot

There are rules in Deuteronomy about kings. There was an intention. The kingship wasn't necessarily bad. What's bad is the reasons they asked for it, what their motives are and all that sort of thing. After the building of Solomon's temple, their inadequacy should have been apparent. Yet people continued to sacrifice at and multiply bamot as if no temple existed. All these construction projects received condemnation. It resulted in a heightened expectation for the kings to remove bamot,. Why particularly in Judea? Or Judah? Well because that's where Jerusalem was. That's where the temple was.
