In britain, we have memoirs. People both publish diaries or write memoirs subsequently. Is this something that isn't true of germany? There's a wealth of published eago documents like diary and letter collections. The difference between these and what we have used here for the documentary is that all these post war creations are somehow either written with an agenda, so they are looking back at the war through rose tinted glasses and they are not honest. They are apologetic in many ways. And teres this whitewashing of the wermart as such, of the german army, in comparison to the wafines, as nothing that i have ever read
