NAMM was a trade group, in this case for the then-national electrical industry. It wanted to prevent regulation, federal, state, or local if they could possibly avoid it of the utility business. Nila is that's the way we pronounce it to the National Electric Light Association. They embarked in one of the largest propaganda campaigns of their era.
