Indian people have always been very global as a diaspera. And indian women were actually quite involved in the u. K. Suffrage momen is well-known for her involvement, but what about those who lived outside of India? She became a member of the women's tax resistance league which argued that if women didn't have the vote, they shouldn't have to pay taxes. So she refused to pay their taxes ad and it feature of her aristocratic privilegeand also gives the real sense of what kind of taxes were paid at that time. There would be public auctions where the bailiffs would sell those goods to raise the money for the tax that had been paid.
