The Relationship Between Steel Prices and Inflation
By the end of the korean war, America's steel industry had become overbuilt in its capacity. There is increasing concern about a relationship between steel prices and general inflation. Steel companies are under political pressure not to just pass on their costs to customers too much with price increases. And this generates a kind of like on going at some in some ways low level, but from the perspective of workers, very intense, class warfare.
