i think it's important that children do choose what they read. We need to take them out of their comforts, so we step in and give them a selection. What happens in the class room has to harmonize with what happens in an intervention. So you can't just do one or the other. You have to choos between no one of theseand i think on the wider issue of our building vocabulary and background knowledge, or cultural capital.
