The Yuan Dynasty and Ju Yuan Zhang
Ju Yuan Zhang was an orphan who lived the life of a beggar in his youth. In 1352 he joined the white lotus society inspired red turbines. By 1363 he started to look like he was the front runner to take over China. He controlled all of southern China from the three gorges out in Sichuan and east to the Yangtze basin.
