The Negative Effects of Neoliberal Social Science

Neoliberal social science conflates where individuals fall within a distribution of risk with where the mean of the entire risk distribution is. In a population where everyone smoked five packs of cigarettes a day, lung cancer would seem to be what would appear to be a genetic disease, right? And so you could probably end up categorizing people into low medium and high risk based on the characteristics that would appear given that everyone smoked.
