The Negative Effects of Neoliberal Social Science

Neoliberal social science conflates where individuals fall within a distribution of risk with where the mean of the entire risk distribution is. In a population where everyone smoked five packs of cigarettes a day, lung cancer would seem to be what would appear to be a genetic disease, right? And so you could probably end up categorizing people into low medium and high risk based on the characteristics that would appear given that everyone smoked. That is what neoliberal social science is would have us believe about things like arrest, recidivism, reincarceration, we arrest.
