Kurt Cobain grew up in a small logging town called Aberdeen in Washington State. He came to describe his hometown as a redneck hell, where he was relentlessly bullied. Things only got worse after his parents divorced in 1976 when Kurt was nine years old. His mother later recalled noticing a stark difference in his personality afterward.
