The History of Punching Jude
Mr. Punch is a puppet who has been in existence for a long time because he really came out of the Comedia del Arte tradition in Italy. Samuel Peeps went to see one of the first punch and jude at that point but he saw the character I think it was called Puchinello my Italian is not perfect so he was a stringed puppet. That character would go on through over time to develop into Mr. Punch we kind of gave him this eccentric jester outfit and sort of made that his own. We gave him his wife Judy but not until the middle of the Victorian period as well.
