The appeal to ridicule fallacy is a. fallacy in which ridicule or mockery is substituted for evidence of an argument. This sort of reasoning is fallacious because mocking a claim does not show the claim as false. The ones that i've run into are pretty skilled manipulators. They're only interested in influencing the people reading the discussion. So they have no interest in in a proper, honest exchange. And so their ridicule is then substituted as evidence, rather than presenting actual evidence. That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. It's basically, you're wrong because, ha ha, ha. You know.
