The Threats of AI in the Global South

I think there's an enormous amount of good that can flow from AI, but ultimately, AI has no agenda itself. It serves particular agendas that are developed by human companies and politicians and indeed powerful individuals. So I think as fast as possible, we need to recognize that AI is in the world, that it is not abstract. It doesn't want anything. But these values are under threat. And we need to look at ways in which technology might serve people if we want to defend those values.
