The Government's Struggles With the 1512 Obstruction Federal Procedure

I had kind of assumed they were going to avoid using it in this for reasons of its potential vulnerability in the D.C. Circuit or at the Supreme Court. But there it is. And so I guess I can think of two ways to read this. One is they're very confident that this charge is going to stand up. The second is that they are not confident that it's going to standing up, but they've got the others to back it up on essentially the same fact pattern. So just like with the many January 6 cases, it kind of doesn't matter all that much if it stands up.
