Kevin McCarthy and George Santos Aren't a Red Wave, Right?
If there were a red wave and Kevin McCarthy had the majority that he assumed he was going to have in October, George Santos would have been done by Christmas. There's no wiggle room with a Democratic governor in New York. The already small room to work for the Republican majority would be even smaller. And that's that's the reason why they are swallowing the George Sanders thing. Because otherwise, I think Kevin McCarthy's move just would have been to say, look, you can either resign or I'm not going to put you on any committees."
