Democratic leaders are doing this funny thing where they're investing in defeating younger, progressive candidates who they see as a threat to the status quo. So you see casesr democratic leaders and nd the party curches get involved in primaries ind heavily democratic areas. Their investment in this intremural fight feels like an investment in their own power and their own standing. But i have been very dismayed to watch as the republicans are basically passing crazy laws while the democrats can't pass any bills.
