DeSantis dissolved the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a political subdivision of Florida. The move could be seen as retaliation for Disney's efforts to take over an amusement park in Tallahassee. DeSantis and his new board then took specific actions to void contracts entered into between the government body and Disney,. thereby taking direct action against Disney.
