The fear mongering comes in, is that it wasn't earned. If you got a 60th percentile score on the MCAT and worked two jobs while studying for the MCAT, that's the same score as someone with a 95th percentile but had their whole data study. But also, you're accounting for the fact that certain people are denied opportunities or don't have access to opportunities because of who they are. Other people got it just because they were born into a rich wealthy, well-connected white family.
