The Pentagonal Structure of the Masjid

For at least 400 years, this was what visitors to the Masjid of the process and would see. Why was it a pentagon? Scholars say some of the early scholars mentioned why for a number of reasons. They didn't want people to think there was another Khabah in Medina because new Muslims are converting.
