Adenine-Based Editing: A New Approach for CRISPR

A new approach for CRISPR called adenine-based editing. Instead of having a functional CRISPR with these that can cleave the DNA, you have a Cas9 that is attached to adenosine diaminase. And this is what basically does, it removes the amine group from the adenine and generates nucleotide called ionosine. This gets repaired in a way that the ionosine gets excised and then where there used to be an adenine you get a guanine or TA pair. It's interesting are they moving into human trials at any point? I think will be so promising if we can get really using this techniques for this
