Am I at the Tree of Life, or Am I Wandering Off?
Nephi is a much more nuanced and complex character, laman and lemuel are. The way nephi recounts the dream of the tree of life is supposed to invite broader reflection. And shouldn't i also see in the history of israel self - gathering together again as we drink the fruit of the vine with christ? It's my sacramental experience,. having been alienated and lost, and i will find my way back to christ. So, ye, it's history, and yet's me.
