The Transformation of Technology in the Middle Ages

In the 1820s and 1830s, there were a few isolated railroads. And it's only in the middle of the 19th century that you really see what the railroad can do to establish a network. So this is transformative, but it's a normal technology. In the 1970s, container shipping, again, it's a rather older concept. It was a regular container shipping line just between New York and Florida since the 1950s. You need the container ports in order to be able to do containers.
