Nietzsche's Autobiography of a Graduate Student
This is the closest thing to a, a philosophical self help manual for neurothanic graduate students as I have ever read. And early on Nietzsche says, you know, we need history for life and we also are poisoned by history. Everything has been reduced to the quality of an illustration or an example of something that you're trying to pound into your skull so you can pass your qualifying exams. That will make you ill. The sickness is a kind of like spiritual sickness. You become weaker. You become unable to act. Nothing matters much anymore.
