The Industrial Revolution and Its Effects on the Economy
The world before the industrial revolution was best described by mat as a malphusian world. People lived very similar lives to their parents and grandparents. But then around the time of the industrial revolution, something changed. Productivity took off. We got better, using our resources better. And it meant that in the world, since, you know, about 18 hundred, you've seen this extraordinary increase in population - but at the same time an extraordinary increase in living standards.
