The Debt Crisis: Who's Going to Buy All This Debt?
Interest rates in markets today, especially compared against the sort of just last year, are a real and growing problem. A lot of the debt that we're dealing with was financed at those rock bottom rates before the Fed kicked off this abrupt hiking cycle. Unless rates take a nosedive, our interest payments are about to shoot through the roof. If interest rates keep rising and stay high for too long, this could quickly vault interest expenses on the national debt into the top three federal expenses across all spending.
