If you meet someone and start emaling them, it might feel pushy or even inappropriate. Give them an opening and then back off gracefully. Zero pressure, zero sales. Linking in is a subtle way of getting permission to talk about anything. Be aware, but not scared of competition. If you have one job, outwork them like crazy. When i worked with the hospital foundation, i won tons of referals simply by outworking everyone else. Hard work really works.
