The No Judiciary Review Provisions in the Repo Act
Paul Waldman: The seizure mechanism, which is at the heart of the repo act, I still have a lot of heartburn with as before we even get into international law. Both last year's bill and this one have a no judicial review for states, including state owned enterprises; that's probably legally wrong. He says he disagrees with both bills because they fund explicitly what people like Tribe and Zalaco have argued for pay for Ukrainian weapons with Russian assets. Waldman: Paying somebody to fight, especially when you yourself are not a party to that conflict, is just different from holding money in earnest against reparations under international law.
