The History of Transportation Segregation
Mia Bay is the author of Traveling Black, A Story of Race and Resistance. She says transport segregation had always been a flashpoint in American history. Direct action protesting transportation segregation goes back to first forms of transportation that's not simply walking on your own feet. People protested on stagecoaches, steamships, there were big brawls in which one black men was physically thrown off railroads.
