Corey Johnson and Kyle had known each other since before kindergarten. When questioned, Corey also confirmed that he and Kyle had remained close for many years. In fact, Corey claimed that Kyle was his only friend. By age 17, Corey had dropped out of high school, got a job as a grocery store stock boy and was living a kind of nomadic life.
