Gitz Filed for Bankruptcy

Gitz ran for mayor in 2001. He wanted public funded food facilities with a standard menu, also to have a vegetarian menu in addition. Gitz filed for bankruptcy. A judge ruled the $43 million could not be dismissed because of the bankruptcy. Asked in 2004 whether he was making payments on the judgment, Gitz responded: "I don't think I've ever paid a penny on that"
