The Central Dilemma

If you're too conservative, if you don't allow any heterodox views in whatoever, then you're not going to have any innovation. You cand allow a little bit of innovation, but very, very little. Many of the new ideas are now crazy when you look back, but at the timebefor before there was a neutron, people were willing to let them go through. Another classic instance afsumeing that's rejected as too inovative and later comes to be thought of as actually true is continental drift.
