Lithuanian state became the biggest catholic dynasty in europe. Spent most of fourteenth century conquering eastern russia, ukraine and poland. In 14 90 they were elected to throne of hungary - which is present day slevacia. Two battles are key moments that epitomize their rise and fall. The battle of tannenburg or grunwald was a crushing defeat for teutonic knights.
