The Importance of Educated Citizens in Democracy

I think the argument against having them in charge is that they ultimately do have blind spots and will not. They will have a weak incentive to enforce true equality across all folks, right? I mean, I tend to think in the modern US, that is probably not the first order question, probably not a first order issue. But by and large over the course of human history, one of the great benefits of having something like genuine democracy where all voters have a vote is that you're much less likely to get massacres.
