I Think There's a Lot of Evidence That Queen Charlotte Was a Mixed Race Aristocrat
Historians have argued that Queen Charlotte did have Black ancestry from a kind of Portuguese line of her family. There's also an example of a gentleman called Nathaniel Wells, whose father left him a significant amount of money and made that money in the Caribbean. He then came to Britain often when there were the mixed mixed race children in the Caribbean,. If they had like wealthy families, they would be sent to England to be educated. This is something that if you were in Georgian, London, you would see a number of black faces. Still to come on the history extra podcast.
