The Importance of Books
In Islam, as you know, the respect of a book is shown in the early text or the first few verses that came down in the Qur'an. Allah has a kittap, which basically talks about the virtues of books. How can something like that turn into an innovation? The kissing would be an innovation if it was an innovation. But even that kissing, does that mean that the person is getting closer to Allah by doing it?
