Do We Know Anything About the Monk Who Wrote These Stories Down?

We don't know anything really about the person who actually wrote this stuff down, and do we have any sense about why they were written down or who they ten for? They seem to hae been written down for a few reasons. One is that it's just weird. It's just good weird stuff that's been happening locally the stories, and most of them are very short. So clearly, the person wrote these stories down had an interest in the whaky, the weird and the supernatural. And i think more probably, thereis just sense that weird stuff was abounding, and er whoever wrote them down just thoughtit would be fun to keep a track of it. An, but
