The Importance of Naval Warfare in the Crimean War
The Crimean War is a limited maritime conflict. It's largely fought in a maritime character. No British soldier was ever more than one day's march from the beach. The fighting is on the Russian frontiers, on Russian islands and on Russian potentials. This is an entirely maritime war. And the target in the Crimea is Russia's Black Sea naval base of Astapol.
