Foucault: Fupo spent a huge amount of time reading, taking notes and then later synthesizing all of that material into the accounts that he presents in this book. Foucault wrote by hand at late stage so there's not quite the same words or something you would rewrite as well as redrafting it. He also talks about how they were doing collaborative research in a slightly later seminar on hospital architecture which is where he says he discovers Jeremy Bentham's text on the panopticon.
