Does Everyone Hate Their Parents?
Some kids get stuck in this dance where everything about whatever's not happening to them is because of the parents. You don't define yourself by your parents; you pull away, do your own thing. But if you can't navigate that intermediate zone, I think some kids do have to kind of pull away a bit. It's so prevalent though. That's the part that's kind of confusing. Like, is it this way in Italy? No. But why? There's a part of me that's like, oh no, they love their mama in Italy. But do they? Is it just here then or is it just here? Is it this?
