The Importance of Community Engagement in Police
I often felt like policing is a very important, we were more like an external agency who'd been dropped into supervised or monitored the community. But one hopeful thing that I did see was that there were individuals within the police who were deeply committed to communities. And so I think there are individuals within that institution who are swimming against the tide in a way and offering again visions of how things could be done better. So it's good to have a glimmer of hope at the end of the interview.
