The Peasants Don't Have Tooth Decay
In a 19th century cemetery the number of people with tooth decay is 79%. In the Middle Ages it was much smaller. Professor Christopher Dyer says peasants didn't have dentists to clean their teeth. He adds that they also weren't very good at brushing their teeth. The main difference between them and today's population is sugar, he says.
