The Comfort of Intercession
Moses acts very much like Christ who has been sinned against grievously, not believed, not followed well. When God wants to smite those who don't believe and don't follow well, he's going to intercede for them. And this is very comforting to wretched people like us because Christ is, he lives to intercession.
