Brown noise is like white noise and pink noise in the sense that it's a random meaningless tone. It reminds me of laying in your bed and looking out the window at the trees, moving in the wind. One theory as to why brown noise might work to help focus people with ADHD is because its randomness is just stimulating enough to mimic the effects of dopamine in the brain.
