The Case for Silicon Valley Bank Versus Dramatic Expansion
A lot of the financing of real businesses has shifted away from banks and towards other types of institutional investors. That's certainly interesting development, but it doesn't really tell us anything about the larger scope for productive investment in the economy. But I don't think Silicon Valley Bank in particular is a useful piece of evidence to support that case.
