The high priesthood thing is really kind of a hornet's nest when it comes to Old Testament theology because there are lots of ambiguities built into it. But we do know that there was this thing called the high priesthood of Melchizedek. And Aaron's priesthood is secondary because God, again, he gives it to Israel because he gave it to Moses.
