What's Missing?
There's been only very few isotope analysis done on viking burials. What i'd like to do a lot more though, is take that, sort of a full set of a population from the ninth to the twelfth centuries with grave goods and subject them to the same kind of techniques. And there's so many ways you could go. If you think about it, hiberno and norse, irish and scandinavian characterizes much of what is now scotland. Anglo, danish, anglo scandinavia doesn't leave any space for that big chunkin twen. So the movement of people is what's really going to bring that home.
