The Universe Could Be in a False Vacuum Bubble
A study last month calculated that these vacuum bubbles could form in the space between two colliding black holes. If that happens, we'd probably be ok, because the bubbles would immediately be sucked into a black hole. But it's not a certainty. So after reading that story, i have been a little bit worried that a vacuum bubble might just swallow the universe.
