Should You Have One Trading Rule for All Markets?
I trade my own portfolio about 40 futures markets covering the most asset classes in most countries, and the only distinction I make between them is the cost of trading that market. But if you are talking about things that are fairly similar, generally speaking, there isn't as much evidence to suggest that you should trade UK pound versus US dollar currency futures differently from, or yen dollar currency futures,. Even different again from US equity futures. You do see the data some differences, but they never really come out statistically significant. And this is actually a real hardening of my attitude to this subject because if you go back five years and I was at NHL, I would have said that there was much more evidence
