The Risks of Quantum Computing

Quantum computers are massive parallel processing machines. They won't be able to easily break all encryption schemes, but they will be exceptionally good at breaking modern day asymmetric encryption schemes. And that's the engine behind everyday internet commerce and probably the linchpin to protecting many government secrets worldwide.
