The Road Shapes the Life of the Town
I think that when I was growing up, I wasn't interested in landscapes or land or ecology, anything like that. Primarily because my experience of it was almost always mediated by a windshield and by speed. You know, oftentimes, and I'm sure you guys have experienced this, I would drive home from school and I wouldn't even remember driving home. It was like I was on autopilot. That's a really creepy thing that cars do to us.
