What do we mean by Ummahat Ul Mumineen? What are their characteristics?
Allah says in the Quran in Surah Ahzab, verse 28 , highlighting the stature of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ: O Prophet, tell your wives: “If you seek the world and its embellishments, then come and I will make some provision for you and release you in an honourable way.But if you seek Allah and His Messenger and the Abode of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who do good.”
There are no women better than them. These women are the role models of femininity and virtuousness.
Is the status of the Mother of the Believers higher than the Ashara Mubashara (the Ten promised Jannah)?
Who has a higher rank in Jannah- 4 amongst the women who have perfected the Iman or the Mother of the Believers?
How many mothers do we have ? There are 11 of them. The Prophet ﷺ was married to 9 of them at the time of his death. 6 of them were from the Qurayshi, 4 of them were non Qurayshi and one was non Arab. The remaining are put into 5 categories and they are not our mothers:
Those wives whom he married but the marriage was not consummated.
Those whom he proposed to but they turned the proposal down.
Those who offer themselves in marriage to the Prophet ﷺ.
Those who are offered to him by others but the Prophet ﷺ did not accept.
Those who are the sarari of the Prophet ﷺ.
